The Role

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are the same — perfect for those who thrive in a busy, buzzing environment and love spreading festive cheer.

Pay Rate: €9.68 - €15.24

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet every customer with a warm welcome.
  • Confidently recommend products and help customers find the perfect gift.
  • Promote our exclusive loyalty card to boost customer savings and brand loyalty.
  • Gift-wrap like a pro — ribbons, wrapping, and all the festive trimmings.
  • Handle payments and transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Keep the store looking magical — tidy, stocked, and sparkling.

Your journey as a Christmas Sales Assistant at the perfume shop

  • Online Application 

    Your journey starts with a simple online application either via job boards like Indeed or directly through The Perfume Shop careers site where you will be just a few clicks could be the first step towards joining our fragrance-loving family. 

  • Initial Contact 

    If your application catches our eye, you’ll receive a friendly phone call from one of our store managers. This is just a quick chat to learn more about your experience, confirm the role is a great fit for you, and arrange an instore interview.   

  • Interview Stage 

    Our interviews are designed to be relaxed and welcoming- after all, we want the real you to shine. You might experience: 

    • A one-to-one conversation or a small group interview. 

    • Questions about customer service, teamwork, your availability, your retail experience, and of course- your genuine passion for perfume! 

    • Fun, creative prompts like: 

    • “What’s your favourite fragrance and why?” 

    • “How would you help a customer choose the perfect scent?” 

    • Interactive tasks such as: 

    • Designing and pitching your own perfume 

    • Group activities or workshop-style challenges 

    We’re looking for people who are as enthusiastic about creating memorable customer moments as they are about beautiful fragrances. 

  • Decision & Offer

  1. What happens after I submit my application?

    Once you’ve applied, our recruitment team will review your application. If your experience matches the role, we’ll contact you by email or phone to discuss next steps, which may include a telephone interview or an in-store interview.  

  2. Do I need retail experience to work in your stores? 

    Not always! While previous retail experience is a plus, it’s not essential. We look for people who are passionate about customer service, eager to learn, and excited about fragrance. 

  3. Can I apply for more than one role? 

    Yes, you can apply for multiple roles if you feel your skills match. Just be sure to tailor your application to each specific position. 

  4. What should I expect in the interview process? 

    Our interviews are friendly and conversational. For store roles, we may ask about: 

    • How you deliver great customer service 

    • Your interest in perfume and gifting 

    • How you work in a team 

    • You might also take part in a short role-play or scenario exercise. 

  5. Do you offer seasonal jobs (e.g., at Christmas)? 

    Absolutely! Our Christmas Sales Assistant roles are some of our most exciting  

    - and a great way to get experience with us. Many seasonal team members return or go on to permanent roles.
