Head of Logistics

A bit about the role

• Support the Supply Chain Director with the development of the Logistics strategy and by taking ownership of the day to day running of the logistics function
• Develop and contribute to logistics strategy and projects. This will include enhancements to warehousing space, eCommerce fulfilment and service, developments in distribution activity, etc.
• Deliver continuous improvement of Logistic KPI’s and processes
• Lead, manage and motivate the Warehouse teams through communication, goal setting and reinforcement of culture
• Produce and deliver the Logistics Budget and liaise with financial functions on quarterly forecasts and year end results
• Develop Christmas Planning within the function and across the business and deliver improvements year on year
• Work with other supply chain departments to ensure a high level of service is provided on stock to stores
• Manage the relationship with 3rd party distributors and maintenance of service standards and cost models. This will include a tender process every 3 years minimum. Conduct regular reviews of 3rd party performance ensuring contractual obligations are met
• Promote compliance with best practice policies within the AS Watson group and manage and respond to audit function requests, ensuring department compliance
• Maintain Health and Safety standards within the Warehouse and work with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure compliance with current legislation
• Communicate regularly with all Head Office departments and relevant persons regarding all Warehouse activities

What we will look for from you...

• Previous warehouse management experience at this level, within a retail or FMCG environment is essential
• Previous experience of having led and managed large teams
• Previous experience of managing a medium to large budget is essential
• Good MS Office skills, particularly in Excel is essential
• Change Management experience, e.g. Team Culture, KPI’s and WMS implementation is highly desirable
• Previous project management experience would be a distinct advantage
