Assistant Buying Analyst

A bit about the role

• Sourcing and collating data for analysis from internal and external sources for interpretation and analysis
• Evaluating market trends and drawing conclusions from data analysis in order to make recommendations to the team
• Ensuring recommendations and findings are communicated in a clear format and style for the relevant audiences, whilst ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner
• Designing, developing and maintaining a consistent reporting format for the team
• Conducting post promotion analysis and review, feeding your findings back to the business and ensuring those reviews are scheduled in line with the promotions calendar
• Updating and completing sales and gross margin reports in line with deadlines
• Developing and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
• Presenting facts and figures in visual forms through a variety of means (most likely PowerPoint) to stakeholders of all backgrounds
• Supporting in the development of new launches and promotions through the provision of accurate data and insight
• Supporting the team in delivery of key objectives, e.g. Margin and Sales
• Ensuring you have a good understanding of our stores and how they trade
• Supporting The Perfume Shop in remaining one step ahead of the competition and maintaining an awareness of the competitor market
• Maintaining good national and regional awareness of who our customers are and what appeals to them
• Maintaining a good knowledge of changes in the industry and possible implications to The Perfume Shop
• Providing cover for other team members as and when required on request

What we will look for from you...

• Proven analytical and commercial experience
• The ability to interpret and communicate complex data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly numerical and competent in Excel and other MS office functions, in particular PowerPoint
• Demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly organised with the ability to schedule own workload
• The ability to work as part of a wider team
