Role Purpose:

 The purpose of this role is to manage and co-ordinate the inbound and stock control section of the warehouse operation in line with the logistics strategy, overseeing all day-to-day activities, leading the team in achieving the warehouse KPI’s and ensuring all health and safety requirements are adhered to. 

A typical day in this role includes:

• Work to continuously implement improvements to ensure we meet customer demand, including but not limited to the warehouse KPI’s, performance against budget, stock and order accuracy, discrepancies, damages, shrinkage, and stock take results
• Work alongside the Security team to control and manage shrinkage and to plan and conduct the Warehouse stock takes
• Be the lead H&S point of contact for the warehouse on a day-to-day basis
• Provide daily briefings to the team, ensuring you report on key inbound and stock control KPI’s and data to drive productivity, performance and engagement.
• Ensure that stock is managed and consumables are put-away and pick locations replenished
• Management of all MHE and the operation of trucks and the FLT team
• Management of inbound returned products from customers both retail and ecommerce Work with the Planning & Development Manager to review and comment on the monthly reports surrounding data and performance of the inbound and stock control function, before leading the necessary improvements with your team
• Contribute to the overall logistics strategy, and development of the warehouse KPI’s ensuring these are delivered
• Clearly communicate and manage the change process when implementing continuous improvement strategies, including but not limited to leading and motivating the whole warehouse team in achieving goals
• Work with the Planning & Development Manager to understand the budget for the inbound and stock control Department, ensuring this is adhered to and that you manage and challenge the costs for your function
• Assist the Planning & Development Manager in creating work plans for the day to day delivery of the inbound and stock control Department whilst considering promotional and peak activities, ensuring your team can meet the business requirements
• Contribute to the planning for the effective delivery of peak periods, promotional and seasonal activity, ensuring the team are fully prepared and able to meet the uplift in inbound delivery schedules
• Regularly liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to discuss and review supplier performance
• Maintain a strong working relationship with our agency labour provider to ensure resourcing needs are met
• Ensure appropriate equipment levels including MHE are maintained to meet requirements of the fulfilment operation
• Always maintain high standards of Health and Safety in line with Company Policy, complying with current legislation, training requirements and actively promoting awareness
• Lead the inbound and stock control function by developing, coaching, and mentoring the team to improve performance and compliance, whilst contributing to the development of warehouse KPIs and driving the team to achieve these
• Manage the inbound and stock control activities daily, ensuring that decisions which have an impact on fulfilment efficiency and cost are taken on a transparent basis and with full consultation
