Transport Compliance Officer
The Transport Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the business remains compliant with our O license commitments and responsibilities whilst also demonstrating this to the site Transport Manager on a daily and weekly basis through KPI’s and system measures, they are also responsible for ensuring all delivery activities are completed in a safe environment and that process and procedures are robust to ensure the wellbeing of our colleagues.
To work effectively with Distribution, Transport Planning, Retail Operations, HO teams and Suppliers in maintaining a safe environment.
To work with the relevant Driver Agencies and Maintenance providers to proactively build good working relationships and ensure ASW requirements are met at all times.
Reporting to the Transport Managers, will work to an agreed set of KPI’s to deliver agreed O license compliance and safety targets
Fleet maintenance planning and administration
Managing transport compliance system
Manage compliance of drivers hours and WTD with M4
Liaising with third parties relating to Fleet, Road Traffic Accidents
Support the Transport Manager in their duties
Completing weekly and monthly audits relating to transport compliance
Administration and record keeping of training requirements
To ensure onsite VMU compliance
Create, maintain and update the national Delivery Point Risk Assessments…ASW ROS standard risk assessment to be reflected in Hubs.
Review completion of Delivery Point Risk Assessments to ensure standards are maintained
Transport Specific Safety Inspections – PPE
Review & Validate all training materials ensuring ASW standards are maintained and training mitigates potential risks
Work in cohesion with the new store team to enable Site survey for vehicle access for new stores and fit for purposes delivery points.
Update of delivery point assessments if change of delivery requirements i.e. road closed, building works, access issues (interim)
Clear version control of documents – AIR’s, NMR’s, training docs etc
Register of stores – low, medium and high ratings
Investigate transport related incidents, collisions etc putting any remedial actions into place
Ideally IOSH/NEBOSH qualified (not essential)
Strong experience within a broad and technical transport operation.
PC literate, Numerate and Analytical.
Proactive – Using analytical skills to seek solutions.
Team-player able to work both collaboratively and independently
Common-sense and practical approach to situations.
Strong attention to detail but aware of the bigger picture.
Organised & articulate
Shift: Monday – Friday day shift
40hr week. Office hours, flexibility required, the occasional night shift may need to be worked.
