The purpose of this role is to support the Merchandising team by providing forecasting, insight and analysis. 

Key Duties / Responsibilities

• Be responsible for optimizing the sales forecast accuracy to include by SKU, DC lead time, promotions and top selling product 
• Forecast and regularly communicate the latest store replenishment plans to the Logistics and Store Operations team, ensuring you measure the accuracy of stores and ecommerce forecasts
• Forecast and report on store level capacity, escalating where necessary to the Head of Merchandising 
• Analyse stock availability and make recommendations to the Merchandising Manager to ensure we consistently achieve 99%+ stock availability
• Analyse ecommerce availability and make recommendations to the Merchandising Manager to ensure we consistently achieve 99%+ stock availability
• Analyse trading patterns, particularly for peak periods, so that our products are available in the right stores at the right time
• Analyse promotional uplift forecast accuracy and identify actions and opportunities to improve
• Identify the root cause of slow-moving stock and make recommendations for improvements to the wider Merchandising team in a timely manner
• Review KPIs by Merchandiser and Supplier and highlight any issues to the wider Merchandising team 
• Identify and implement opportunities for driving sales and profit within our top stores, new stores and loss-making stores
• Forecast seasonal stock builds, and track store stock at SKU level, providing feedback to the core Merchandising team
• Work with the Branch Merchandiser to support the business segmentation strategy with relevant analysis
• Develop reporting requirements for the Merchandising and wider Supply Chain teams

• Experience of analysing and interpreting data 
• Previous experience of using Business Objects
• Experience with store allocation systems and control parameters

• An understanding of store allocation processes and procedures
• A good understanding of stock replenishment techniques to deliver high stock availability 
• Good knowledge of promotional activity and the drivers to manage efficient promotional stock replenishment 
• Commercial awareness within the retail space and an understanding of the challenges faced by stores

• Proficient in using Business Objects 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A strong understanding of forecasting techniques, to include development of profiles and disaggregation methods
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships at all levels
• Strong prioritisation, organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
