We are looking for a Head of Financial Control to join The Perfume Shop finance team, you will be reporting into the finance director and will be responsible for: 

Maintaining strong financial and operational control, driving a strategy to deliver improvements to cost, process and system

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Financial Control
·      
Responsible for strong balance sheet control on wider team, adhering to ASW policies and IFRS standards
·      
Deliver consolidated group accounts monthly and extended reports quarterly
·      
Lead on Statutory accounts process 
·      
Responsible for ensuring tax compliance (Corporation Tax, SAO, VAT, Customs)
·      
Periodic review and update of employee authorization limits
·      
Internal and external audit lead
·      
Responsibility for Chart of Accounts, GL mappings, Oracle rules, ERP mappings into Oracle
 
Operational Control
·      
Responsibility for the Accounts Payable/Receivable function, overseeing the team, signing off on key control areas, setting, reviewing and challenging the KPI’s
·      
Strong Balance Sheet and Cash Flow management, regular reviews, scenario analysis, budgeting and forecasting
·      
Budget responsibility for key areas of cash processing costs: Bank charges, cash in transit, shorts & overs
·      
Manage banking administration, liaising with bank partners and HK on board resolution changes, system and user changes
·      
Group liaison on Insurance policies
·      
Support Corporate team on their deliverables, eg. Stock reconciliation, Fixed Asset and Depreciation
 
General
·      
Champion and drive a strategy to deliver improvements to both process and system, looking both internally and externally to drive best practice, including embedding in a new Expense Management System
·      
Ensure key stakeholders have informative and insightful reporting
·      
Build strong relationships, Internally, ASW Group, Tax and Audit partners
·      
Provide support on any ad hoc corporate or departmental initiatives, projects or tenders as determined by the strategic agenda 


People Management
·       Lead and develop team to drive growth and performance, setting clear and achievable objectives and ensure development plans are in place
·      
Drive team engagement and ensure a high level of service is delivered within the business
·      
Influential in supporting Finance Director in driving and managing change in the department

Essentials

Experience

Qualified Chartered Accountant with strong consolidated accounts experience
Strong financial reporting and controls background
Experienced in statutory accounts preparation and review
Experienced in corporation tax and VAT preparation and review
Demonstrable experience of managing and developing a team
Demonstrable experience of improving controls and processes
Proven experience of reporting to tight deadlines, managing high volumes of work and delivering accuracy at all times

Knowledge
·      
Up to date with latest and upcoming financial developments and legislation
 
Skills

Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to deliver with others

·      
Strong numeracy and accuracy skills
·      
Strong prioritisation, organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
·      
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel

Desirable Experience
·      
Experience in budget management
·      
Experience of using Oracle Financials
·      
Previous retail or FMCG experience
 
Knowledge
·      
Knowledge of IFRS 16
 
Skills
·      
Data warehouse skills
