Purpose of the role summary 

This is a field based role with nationwide travel.  

To manage and deliver effective learning and development solutions and disciplines across their area of the business to ensure that we continue to grow our talent and increase capability and work as an effective field L&D officer

Key Duties / Responsibilities
•Manage the ongoing development of Store Teams within their area, identifying and developing talent
•Manage the Perfect Start for Store Managers through the completion of curriculums, supporting them on their first week in store and provide the required reports on their progress feeding back on performance where required
•Maintain accurate training reports, using them to assist in analysis of performance and training needs for their area of responsibility
•Support stores by delivering a range of L&D activities that cover the full L&D cycle
•Managing and developing our people and product training initiatives
•Identify what makes a successful store and find ways to incorporate this learning in the delivery of all training
•Coach Store Managers on the benefits of promoting a Learning and Development culture to their teams
•Liaise with Area and District Managers to identify and agree training requirements to deliver the training plan for Store Teams
•Gather and deliver relevant evidence based feedback to Area/District Managers upon completion of training activities
•Assist in the delivery of training programmes that encourage, enhance and support performance and drive customer engagement
•Support the implementation and management of apprenticeship programs 
•Support the L&D Manager in the planning and delivery of additional learning and development initiatives
•Understand and play an active part in managing costs and measuring Return on Investment (ROI)
•Continue own development in line with personal goals and the goals and development of the department and business

Essentials 
Experience

•Previous experience of having coached and trained both large groups and individuals is essential
•Previous experience of having worked within a Retail L&D department is preferred, together with the ability to demonstrate practical application of theoretical knowledge and strategy into action
•Demonstrate a passion for developing people and operational knowledge of retail

Knowledge
•Full UK Driving License is essential as nationwide travel is required

Skills
•Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
•Excellent presentation skills and proven track record of coaching and facilitating individuals and groups
•Ability to facilitate groups and coaching 
•Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
•A dedicated and self-motivated approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude
•High attention to detail
•Ability to handle multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
•Ability to use your own initiative when presented with queries
•A naturally creative and an innovative approach

KPI’s
•All new managers complete the full Perfect Start curriculum within the agreed timescales
•Maintains accurate digital training records
•Completes Training Needs Analysis for their area of responsibilities
•Identifies and develops talent within their area
